The meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and the U.S. delegation in Moscow has concluded, according to sources cited by CNN.
The American delegation included special envoy Steve Witkoff and President Donald Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner.
The Russian news agency RIA Novosti reported that the meeting lasted nearly five hours.
In a post on X, Putin’s emissary Kirill Dmitriev described the meeting as “productive,” alongside an image of a peace dove.
Earlier, the Russian president stated that his country does not want war with Europe, but if Europe initiates one, the conflict would end so quickly that Russia would leave Europe with no one to negotiate with.
Putin also threatened to cut off Ukraine’s access to the sea in retaliation for drone attacks on Russian oil transport ships in the Black Sea.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha commented that Putin’s statements indicate he is not willing to bring an end to the war.
