Russia cannot “reconcile” with Ukraine, and its only strategy is to destroy Ukraine. NATO countries must consider how to assist Ukraine at the Washington summit, as in a prolonged war of attrition, Ukraine could run out of people.
Jaroslaw Kraszewski, a Polish military expert and former commander of the Polish Land Forces’ rocket and artillery forces, said this in an interview with Ukrinform, commenting on the recent US decision to prioritize sending air defense missiles to Ukraine.
“The world led by the US has finally understood after ten years – after all, the war has been ongoing since 2014 – that Russia cannot ‘reconcile’ with Ukraine. Moreover, Moscow actually has no strategy for Ukraine. Its only strategy is total destruction. For the sake of this, since mid-March 2022, Russia has been destroying civilian infrastructure, killing innocent people who have nothing to do with this war, and worst of all, children are dying,” said Kraszewski.
In his opinion, the West has finally realized that “if this type of war continues – and there are far fewer Ukrainians than Russians – it could last for a year and a half, and then Russia’s dominance in Ukraine could come.”
“I hope NATO leaders will discuss this topic in detail at the Washington summit. Europe needs to have a discussion and find a solution to the question: what will happen if Ukraine runs out of people? Not rockets, rocket launchers, or planes, but people, because people win wars, not machines,” the expert is quoted as saying.
According to him, Ukrainians will win this war, but the West must help them.
“That is why this decision by the US government is important, but very delayed, and the delay has cost many lives,” the expert believes.
He called Washington’s unwillingness to firmly support Ukraine from the beginning a strategic mistake, especially in the context of President Joe Biden’s statement that “US troops will never set foot on Ukrainian soil while the war continues.”
Therefore, according to him, this gave Putin a “green light” to do whatever he wanted in Ukraine.
“Now we have proof that, unfortunately, this is not a classic war, but actions by the Russian Federation for the total destruction of Ukraine,” declared the Polish expert.
