Putin’s spokesperson, Dmitry Peskov, has denied claims that the recent overnight attack in Ukraine was a response to French President Emmanuel Macron’s ceasefire proposal. Speaking at a daily press conference, Peskov rejected suggestions that the attack was connected to Macron’s call for a four-week ceasefire, including a halt in air, sea, and energy infrastructure operations.
Peskov stated, “We do not agree with this viewpoint.” He emphasized that Russia’s military continues its “special military operation,” targeting facilities linked to Ukraine’s military-industrial complex and weapons production.
Macron’s ceasefire proposal was made earlier this week, aiming to de-escalate tensions amidst ongoing conflict.
