Yesterday, the Electoral Panel for Complaints and Appeals (PZAP) annulled the decision of the Central Election Commission (KQZ) to reject the certification of the Serbian List for participation in the February 9 elections. PZAP has instructed the KQZ to certify the Serbian List.
In a response to Express, the spokesperson of the KQZ, Valmir Elezi, stated that they would wait until the legal procedures are completed.
This is because, after the PZAP decision, there is a 48-hour timeframe within which requests against this decision can be submitted to the Supreme Court.
“In the PZAP decision, there is legal advice stating that an appeal can be made to the Supreme Court within 48 hours from the moment the decision is received. Therefore, the KQZ will wait for the completion of legal procedures before placing this issue on the agenda,” said Elezi.
On Monday, the KQZ did not certify the Serbian List, as representatives from the Vetëvendosje (VV) party within the institution argued that this political party does not recognize the state of Kosovo. Following this, the Serbian List appealed to the PZAP.
This decision by the KQZ was met with concern by international actors.
