The Emir of Qatar has accused Israel of ongoing violations of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza, raising concerns over renewed instability in the region.

During the opening session of the Shura Council, Qatar’s legislative body, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani condemned what he described as Israel’s continuous breaches and practices in the Palestinian territories, emphasizing that these actions represent a serious violation of the truce.

Qatar played a key mediating role in brokering the Gaza ceasefire, alongside the United States, Egypt, and Turkey. The Gulf nation continues to maintain diplomatic channels with both Israel and Hamas, positioning itself as a central actor in regional peace efforts.

Meanwhile, Hamas’ de facto leader Khalil al-Hayya, who resides primarily in Qatar, recently lost his son in an Israeli airstrike last month, an event that has further strained diplomatic efforts.

Qatar’s government reiterated its commitment to support ongoing mediation and called on all parties to respect international law and humanitarian principles to prevent further escalation.
