During today’s session, Central Election Commission (KQZ) Chairman Kreshnik Radoniqi announced that following the recount in the Center for Counting and Results (QNR), over 36,000 votes for candidates were removed, which had previously been recorded in the Municipal Counting Centers (QKN).

Additionally, 20,978 votes were added to candidates whose votes had not been correctly recorded in the QKN.

“According to the report from the recounted polling stations at the QNR, 36,007 votes were removed from candidates’ totals that had been recorded in the QKN. Furthermore, 20,978 votes were added to candidates whose votes were not accurately registered in the QKN. These changes indicate inaccuracies in the original counting of candidate votes within political parties,” Radoniqi said.

He noted that Prizren municipality represents the most extreme case:

“In Prizren, 29,343 votes were removed from candidates’ totals after the QNR recount, while 16,366 votes were added to candidates whose votes had not been correctly recorded in the Prizren QKN. In other municipalities, no significant differences were observed. These adjustments reflect potential errors in candidate vote registration and the inclusion of votes after re-evaluating invalid ballots, though in some polling stations, discrepancies were particularly pronounced for certain candidates,” Radoniqi added.
