The German Embassy in Pristina has officially confirmed that Rainer Rudolph will serve as the new German ambassador to Kosovo.

According to the embassy, Rudolph will begin his mandate in mid-October 2025. He currently holds the position of Deputy Chairman of the Munich Security Conference (MSC), one of the most influential global forums on foreign policy and security.

Rudolph will succeed Ambassador Jörn Rohde, who has been serving in Kosovo since the summer of 2020.

This appointment is expected to further strengthen Germany’s diplomatic role in Kosovo, particularly at a time of ongoing regional and international challenges.
