Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama has called on Albanians to vote in the May 11 elections, emphasizing that this moment is crucial for Albania’s path toward European Union membership.
Speaking at a meeting with the Albanian diaspora in Crete, Greece, Rama described the election as a historic opportunity that must not be missed.
“Today, the light of our European destiny shines upon our path. It is our great duty not to let this light fade but to come together on May 11 to achieve Albania’s major objective—EU integration,” Rama stated.
He highlighted the importance of the diaspora vote, revealing that 246,000 Albanians from Europe and beyond have registered to participate in the elections, including 65,000 in Greece alone.
Acknowledging the struggles of Albanians who emigrated to Greece in difficult circumstances, Rama praised their contributions and integration into their host countries.
Rama urged all Albanians, both inside and outside the country, to participate in the elections, calling it a decisive step toward securing Albania’s European future.
