The Mayor of Pristina, Përparim Rama, today awarded the Key to the City to renowned Serbian human rights activist Natasha Kandić.

In a Facebook post, Rama wrote that Kandić chose to stand on the side of truth during the darkest times.

He further emphasized that her work and dedication remind us that without truth, there can be no sustainable peace, neither in Kosovo nor in the region.

“With her unwavering courage, she gave a voice to pain, brought justice to memory, and honored the victims regardless of their ethnicity or language. In the darkest times, she chose to stand on the side of truth, risking everything for a greater ideal: human dignity. Today, I had the honor of presenting her with the Key to the City of Pristina, a token of gratitude for a life dedicated to justice, truth, and reconciliation,” Rama wrote.
