The clearance of public spaces from illegal constructions continues across the country, with citizens having reported 12,139 cases of violations on the platform “My Public Space.”

Prime Minister Edi Rama today shared on social media footage of the ongoing interventions to free public spaces and dismantle unauthorized metal structures erected on sidewalks and public roads, ATSH reports.

“We continue,” Rama wrote, referring to the national initiative for clearing public spaces, launched in July 2025.

The field operations will proceed until all illegal structures are fully removed, as part of the government’s “Urban Renaissance 2.0” vision.

In parallel, the National Regulation is being drafted, which will legally define the public spaces that businesses may utilize. Prime Minister Rama announced that “for every chair placed in the designated public space, the business must contribute with one tree to the Green Fund that the new government will establish.”

For this purpose, citizens wishing to report abusive cases can use the portal “Hapësiraimepublike.gov.al.” So far, 8,890 cases have been resolved through the portal, while 3,249 remain under review.
