On the eve of the 18th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Kosovo, the Mayor of Pristina, Përparim Rama, announced that the first school hour on February 16 in all public schools of the capital will be dedicated to the history, role, and sacrifice of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA).
“In the capital, the first school hour in honor of the KLA! A reflection on our history and our state responsibility! On the eve of the 18th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Kosovo, in all public schools of the capital, the first lesson on February 16 will be dedicated to the history, role, and sacrifice of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA). As the capital city, we have both an institutional and moral obligation to cultivate in younger generations respect for our history, sacrifice, and ideals. Historical memory is the foundation of identity and respect for statehood,” Rama wrote.
