The Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, speaking from Brussels, said that for Albania, on its path towards EU membership, Europe flourishes when it is complete, and it is complete when it is united.
“You saw Europe not as an attraction, but as daily work for families and people. Unity is achievable even when division seems predestined. All of this comes from the heart and from the gratitude of my team, because the European Economic and Social Committee was the first place where we Albanians—citizens of Europe’s so-called second class—felt like first-class citizens of Europe.”
“I want to thank you, Oliver, for your advocacy, for enlargement, and for your strength. For Albania, on the road to membership, Europe flourishes when it is complete and it is complete when it is united. Thank you very much for what you have given us as a person, and thanks to the people in the hall for their heroic patience,” he emphasized.
