Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama reacted this morning on social media to the ongoing wildfire situation affecting the country and the region, emphasizing the readiness of state structures and the dedication of teams on the ground.
In a Facebook post, Rama stated that the situation has improved thanks to “efforts and sacrifices”, but warned that risks and unexpected developments remain present at all times.
The Prime Minister expressed gratitude to all personnel fighting the flames, while sharply criticizing certain public voices who, according to him, “groom themselves in front of media mirrors.”
“With another day of high alert and joint efforts, facing a situation improved thanks to admirable efforts and sacrifices, yet with risks and surprises at any moment, I express my disgust toward the barking figures who continue their routine of self-grooming in front of the media mirrors, while across Southern Europe—from Spain to Turkey—thousands of wildfire hotspots are burning. I wish you all a calmer day ahead,” Rama wrote.
The wildfire situation has impacted several areas in Albania and the region, while firefighting services and civil emergency forces remain on full alert.
