The Mayor of Drenas, Ramiz Lladrovci, has announced the formation of a new political party, which will run in the upcoming local elections for both mayor and municipal assembly.
The new party is called “Për Drenasin Kampion me Ramiz Lladrovcin” (PDKRLl) — which translates to For Champion Drenas with Ramiz Lladrovci.
In a Facebook statement, Lladrovci explained that this decision comes after disagreements with the leadership of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK). He cited a lack of integrity and transparency in the party’s decision-making, especially regarding the nomination process for the October 12 local elections in Drenas.
He accused PDK’s national leadership of ignoring the will and contributions of the local branch and trying to impose “intermediaries” and “third-party power” over local governance.
Lladrovci stressed that the new party will compete only in the local elections to “protect Drenas from corruption and outside influence” and to continue clean, transparent, and citizen-focused governance.
He called on citizens and supporters to join him, saying the goal is not to abandon the PDK’s founding values, but to defend them where they have been “distorted” by current actors.
