The Basic Court in Prishtina has issued an arrest warrant against Božidar Dejanović, the former mayor of Kllokot, after he failed to appear at the scheduled court hearing.

The court’s reasoning states that multiple attempts were made to notify Dejanović about today’s hearing, but the summons could not be delivered as he was not found at the provided address. Since Dejanović did not inform the court about a change of residence, his absence was deemed unjustified, reports Insajderi.

“Since he was obliged to notify the Court in case of a change of address, which the defendant did not do, and since he was not found at the given address for the initial hearing, the Court considers his absence unjustified,” the court order reads.

Based on the decision, the Kllokot Police Station is instructed to escort the defendant by force to the court.

In the local elections on October 12, 2025, Bozhidar Dejanović ran again for mayor of Kllokot as a candidate of the Serb List.

The case involves Dr. Bekim Ademi, who is accused of forging a document (medical certificate) at the Clinical University Hospital of Kosovo (QKUK) for Dejanović to use as a justification for missing the court hearing.

Both Dejanović and Dr. Ademi face charges of forging an official document and legalizing false content.

According to the indictment, on August 28, 2021, Ademi, acting as a custodian at the clinic, allegedly admitted Dejanović to the hospital for a supposed medical check-up and assigned him to inpatient care. However, on the same day, Dejanović left the hospital. Ademi then prepared a false official document stating that Dejanović had stayed in inpatient care from August 28 to August 30, 2021.

This certificate was given to Dejanović, who passed it to his lawyer, and ultimately the lawyer submitted it to the court to request a postponement of the hearing. The court had approved the request, rescheduling the session to a later date.
