Acting Minister for Communities and Returns, Nenad Rašić, has stated that he will vote for Fatmir Limaj for Speaker of the Assembly of Kosovo, should he be proposed by the Vetëvendosje Movement (LVV). Rašić emphasized that he has no information indicating he will not continue serving as minister in the new government.
Before the start of the 23rd attempt to constitute the Assembly of Kosovo, Rašić expressed that Prime Minister Albin Kurti has shown readiness for him to remain part of the government.
“This is the first time I’m hearing that… We haven’t discussed it [with Albin Kurti], except that there is a willingness from the Vetëvendosje Movement and the Prime Minister for me to be part of the government. What you’re saying is new to me, but in politics, it’s normal for options, plans, or ministers to change,” he said.
Rašić further confirmed his support for Fatmir Limaj as Speaker of the Assembly if Limaj is officially nominated.
“As of now, no [I have not been informed of a new proposal for Speaker]… Yes, yes [I will vote for Fatmir Limaj as Speaker]. Because, as I said earlier, responsibility is a concept where one must accept that there is a majority leading the constitution process. I’ve known Limaj personally for years—the first time we were in government together was in 2007, nearly 18 years ago. So, I have no objections,” Rašić added.
