The Commander of the KFOR mission, Major General Özkan Ulutaş, met with Slovak President Peter Pellegrini to discuss the security situation in the region and KFOR’s ongoing role in maintaining stability in Kosovo.
During the meeting, Major General Ulutaş reaffirmed KFOR’s unwavering commitment to contributing to long-term security throughout Kosovo, in line with its mandate under the United Nations.
Support for Regional Stability
The KFOR Commander also welcomed Slovakia’s continued contributions to the KFOR mission, highlighting their importance in strengthening regional stability and collective security efforts.
“KFOR remains fully committed to ensuring a safe and secure environment for all communities living in Kosovo,” Ulutaş emphasized.
Coordination With Local and International Institutions
KFOR continues to implement its mandate in close coordination with the Kosovo Police and EULEX, acting within their respective roles as security responders to guarantee freedom of movement and overall public safety.
The meeting comes amid continued international attention on security developments in the Western Balkans, underscoring the importance of cooperation between NATO-led missions and contributing nations.
