The Acting Minister of Local Government Administration (MLGA), Elbert Krasniqi, has responded to reports and suspicions regarding the renovation of the Zvecan Municipality building, emphasizing that any claims of illegal funding or financing from Serbia must be verified by the relevant institutions.
The issue was initially reported a few days ago by TV Dukagjini, which published footage and information about renovation works taking place at the municipal building.
The topic was revisited on the show Debat Plus, where analyst Dardan Gashi stated that there are suspicions the renovation may have been carried out using funds originating from Serbia.
In this context, Minister Krasniqi stressed that institutions must treat any such information with seriousness.
“To be honest, there are 38 municipalities, and it is not the case that on a daily basis I know what each municipality is doing and with whose funds… I verified this with our colleagues on the ground and other institutions, and we do not have such information… if this has occurred, every individual will be held accountable in accordance with the law,” Krasniqi stated.
