Another U.S. Republican lawmaker has joined the growing criticism of Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik, condemning his unconstitutional actions that have plunged Bosnia and Herzegovina into a political crisis, reports Klix.ba.

U.S. Representative Joe Wilson (R-SC) took to social media to echo concerns already voiced by members of both the Republican and Democratic parties.

“Milorad Dodik, who is under U.S. sanctions, and war criminal Vladimir Putin are threatening to destabilize Bosnia and Herzegovina and dismantle the Dayton Peace Agreement. Secretary of State Marco Rubio is right—we must act and prevent history from repeating itself,” Wilson wrote on X.

Wilson joins fellow Republicans Chuck Grassley, Jim Risch, Thom Tillis, and Ann Wagner, as well as Democratic Senators Dick Durbin, Peter Welch, Chris Van Hollen, and Jeanne Shaheen, in condemning Dodik’s actions.

U.S. Concerned Over Bosnia’s Stability

Senator Chuck Grassley previously addressed the issue in the U.S. Senate, while Congresswoman Wagner also highlighted Dodik’s role in Bosnia’s ongoing crisis.

Three days ago, Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that the U.S. is considering various measures regarding Bosnia and Herzegovina, emphasizing that the country must not face disintegration or conflict.

On March 8, Rubio had warned:

“The actions of Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik are undermining Bosnia and Herzegovina’s institutions and endangering its security and stability. The United States encourages political leaders in Bosnia and Herzegovina to engage in constructive and responsible dialogue. We call on our regional partners to join us in opposing this dangerous and destabilizing behavior.”
