The Central Election Commission (CEC) has confirmed that, so far, results have been verified for 550 polling stations for municipal mayoral elections and for 334 polling stations for municipal assembly elections, where votes for assembly members have also been counted. The information was provided by Valmir Elezi, CEC spokesperson.
Elezi emphasized that in the Municipal Counting Centers, three main activities are being conducted:
- Verification of results from municipal mayoral elections.
- Verification of results for political parties from municipal assembly elections.
- Counting votes for candidates for municipal assemblies.
According to Elezi, the process is progressing according to legal procedures, although in some centers, including Pristina, Podujevo, and Kllokot, counting has been delayed due to poor internet connectivity, which prevents the broadcast of counting tables for observers. He assured that CEC teams are working to resume the process as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, in the Municipal Counting Center in Prizren, the process was boycotted due to technical issues. According to the center’s head, Merita Shehu, many computers were not working and network problems prevented operations, forcing the entire staff to leave the counting room. She has informed the Municipal Election Commission about the situation.
In the runoff for Prizren mayor, Shaqir Totaj from PDK and Artan Abrashi from LVV will face off on November 9, 2025, to secure the necessary votes for the mayoral position.
The CEC reports that counting for municipal assembly elections continues in several municipalities, including Deçan, Gjakova, Gjilan, Dragash, Kaçanik, Klinë, Mitrovica, Prizren, and others, while in some centers such as Han i Elezit, Junik, Mamushë, and Zveçan, counting has already been completed.
Local elections for mayors and municipal assemblies were held on October 12, 2025, and vote counting continues across the country in Municipal Counting Centers.
