Acting Deputy Prime Minister Emilija Rexhepi has commented on President Vjosa Osmani’s decision to address the Constitutional Court regarding the 30-day deadline for the Assembly’s constitution.

Call for Clearer Guidance and Presidential Influence

Rexhepi stated that she expects clearer instructions from the Constitutional Court on how to resolve the current situation. She also called on President Osmani to use her authority to influence political parties.

“Personally, I expect more precise instructions from the Constitutional Court regarding the resolution of the current situation, and I expect Osmani to use her authority to influence Albanian political parties not to debate who is right and who is not, or who can and who cannot, but for everyone to take a share of responsibility and vote for the parliament as soon as possible,” she said.

Elections as a Potential Solution

Rexhepi believes that if no cooperation is achieved between the parties, then elections should be called.

“If no compromise is reached, let them call central elections as soon as possible. I think this situation is not fair to the citizens who voted for us either,” Rexhepi emphasized for “Front Online.”
