One of the eight police officers injured in the armored vehicle accident in the north of the country is being treated at the Thoracic Surgery Clinic at the University Clinical Center of Kosovo (QKUK).
The condition of the officer was commented on by Dr. Frederik Çuperjani, a specialist in Thoracic Surgery.
He stated that the 30-year-old patient has rib fractures on both sides of his chest, but his condition is stable.
“The patient’s condition is stable at the moment. He is being monitored. The injuries are serious, as we are dealing with chest compression and rib fractures on both sides of the chest. However, his condition is stable. The patient is strong, he is young, and I believe everything will go as we hope,” Çuperjani said to EO.
He also confirmed that the officer was conscious when he was transported for medical treatment.
“These are serious injuries, and his condition was initially critical, but after examinations, we found the injuries. The lungs are unharmed, there is no air or blood in the pleural space. We only found the rib fractures and chest compression. Yes, he was conscious,” Çuperjani emphasized.
