The U.S. Presidential Envoy for Special Missions, Richard Grenell, commented again on today’s massive protest in Tirana in support of former UÇK leaders.
Grenell wrote on X (formerly Twitter):
“The Hague is Out of Control. This is what Jack Smith did,”
referring to the former Special Prosecutor who filed charges against Hashim Thaçi.
Jack Smith resigned from the Special Prosecution in November 2022.
Today’s nationwide protest in Tirana denounced the alleged injustices against former UÇK leaders in The Hague.
Earlier this year, Grenell called for the release of former President Hashim Thaçi, describing his imprisonment as unjust and urging it to end.
The indictment alleges that Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi, and Rexhep Selimi committed war crimes.
