The UEFA Champions League match between Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona will go ahead as scheduled despite tensions and clashes between protesters and police in France.

French Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez confirmed that the match would not be postponed.

“Postponing the match between Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona is not being considered. Other matches that may take place in the Champions League are not at risk either,” Nuñez said.

The match is scheduled to take place at the Parc des Princes stadium as part of the third round of the Champions League league phase. Both teams have won their opening two matches.

Barcelona will be without several players in defence, while PSG will be unable to count on defender Nuno Mendes.

The French minister’s announcement has ruled out the possibility of postponement, with both teams continuing their preparations as planned.
