Translation:

Kosovo’s Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli, provided new details today regarding the situation at the Ibër Lepenc water canal, following the explosion caused by criminal gangs.

Minister Rizvanolli announced that the municipalities supplied by the Ibër Lepenc canal might face water supply disruptions throughout the day.

Her post reads:

“Dear citizens,

Due to water leaks in the section of the canal damaged by the terrorist attack, it was necessary to implement a new engineering solution to ensure the canal’s safety.

To carry out work on the canal, the water supply was interrupted last night at midnight. As a result, municipalities receiving water from Ibër Lepenc may experience water shortages today.

The work on the canal has now been completed, and the water supply has resumed. Water levels at the Kosovo B Power Plant have been monitored and remained sufficient throughout the event. As in the past two days, our priority will remain to ensure an adequate water supply for cooling the power plant, followed by restoring water supplies to the Regional Water Companies (KRU) as soon as possible.

Citizens are encouraged to follow updates from the Regional Water Companies for accurate information regarding water supply.

Thanks to the Ibër Lepenc team and the contractor for their work on the canal, as well as to Minister Xhelal Sveçla and Deputy Minister Hysen Durmishi for closely overseeing the work throughout the night.”
