Acting Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli, has vehemently denied reports that Kosovo is importing electricity from Serbia, labeling such news as “untrue” and based on misinterpretation of data.
“STOP DISINFORMATION! What is being called ‘import’ of energy from Serbia, based on physical energy flows, is either intentional disinformation or simply a lack of knowledge – but in no way is it true,” Rizvanolli declared.
She emphasized that since 2020, when Kosovo became an independent energy operator, Serbia has blocked trade through the Kosovo-Serbia cross-border lines. According to Rizvanolli, this blockade is one of the main reasons that often causes excessive loads on transmission lines with Montenegro and North Macedonia.
