The National Center for Border Management has announced that roads leading to Kosovo’s border crossing points are generally in good condition and passable.
According to the latest official data, most main and regional roads are free of snow, ice, fog, and landslides. Routes including Mitrovica–Bërnjak, Gjakova–Qafë Morinë, Gjakova–Qafë Prushit, Gjilan–Dheu i Bardhë, Kaçanik–Hani i Elezit, Podujeva–Merdare, and Prizren–Vërmica remain open and accessible without obstacles.
However, snow and ice have been reported on several road segments. The Peja–Kullë road is affected by snow and fog, while the Prishtina–Mutivodë route has snow and icy conditions, requiring increased caution from drivers.
The Kosovo Police have issued an appeal for heightened vigilance, warning that weather conditions and snowfall have made traffic more difficult on certain road sections.
Traffic has been particularly challenging on national and regional roads due to snow, ice, and reduced visibility. Authorities have urged drivers to:
- Adjust speed to current road conditions
- Maintain a safe distance from vehicles ahead
- Use headlights in low-visibility conditions
- Avoid risky maneuvers such as unnecessary overtaking and sudden braking
