German Ambassador to Kosovo, Jörn Rohde, along with his deputy Christian Böttcher, paid a visit to the German KFOR troops stationed at Camp “Bondsteel.” During the visit, they received a detailed briefing on the current missions, operational capabilities, and technical equipment used during patrols and border monitoring between Kosovo and Serbia.
“I felt a bit like I was coming home,” said Ambassador Rohde, recalling his time in Germany’s Strandmeister Company during the 1980s.
“A visit filled with memories and deep impressions: Together with my deputy, we explored the technical equipment and operational strength of our KFOR troops at Camp Bondsteel.
I’m still proud to see the ‘Ahlmann’ in action—now a bit more modern than in my Navy days. Many thanks to the team for their excellent work,” Rohde wrote on BlueSky.
