A large amount of cash was seized today at the border crossing in Hani i Elezit, during a routine inspection carried out by Kosovo Customs.
According to officials, €295,270 in undeclared cash was discovered hidden inside a vehicle that had been sent to the second line for a detailed inspection. The driver had initially declared that he had nothing to report, prompting customs officers to conduct a more thorough check.
During the inspection, officers uncovered the concealed funds, which were not declared in accordance with border regulations.
Kosovo Customs confirmed that the money was confiscated in line with legal procedures, while the case has been forwarded for further investigation to determine the origin and intended use of the funds.
This incident highlights the increased vigilance of Kosovo Customs in detecting attempts to move undeclared cash across the border.
