Workers of Radio Television of Kosovo (RTK) are holding another protest today, organized by the RTK Workers’ Union (SPERTK), demanding immediate action on unpaid salaries affecting around 700 employees of the public broadcaster.

The union has warned that if the situation does not improve, it will escalate its actions to include strikes and work boycotts. SPERTK called the protest “a mobilization of all workers to defend their rights and dignity,” urging both participation and media coverage.

“On November 13, 2025, at 11:15 AM, in front of RTK-1, the second protest in a series organized by SPERTK will take place. This is a call for massive participation from all employees, regardless of sector, position, or experience. Our united voice is our greatest strength in defending the rights and dignity of RTK workers,” the union stated.

This protest follows the first demonstration on November 6, which was also held outside the public broadcaster’s headquarters. Despite the passing of time, RTK employees remain without salaries.

The Independent Trade Union of Kosovo (BSPK) has voiced its support for the SPERTK protest, as has the United Union of Education, Science, and Culture of Kosovo (SBASHK), emphasizing solidarity with the media workers.

The persistence of unpaid wages highlights the ongoing neglect by authorities toward the employees of Kosovo’s public broadcaster. Workers warn that without immediate action, protests will intensify, putting further pressure on a system that continues to ignore the basic rights and livelihoods of its public servants.
