Deputy of the Assembly of Kosovo and Vice President of the LDK, Ismet Beqiri, recalled a significant meeting with James Rubin, former high-ranking U.S. official, during his visit to Kosovo in 1991.
He described this meeting as “unforgettable,” emphasizing the importance that Rubin and the United States had in supporting Kosovo.
In his post, Beqiri said that together with Rubin, as well as activists Sejdi Veseli, Gazmend Pula, and Bahtir Cakolli, they had visited the symbolic neighborhood of resistance and sacrifice in Pristina – Vranjevc, specifically the “Hill of the Brave.”
“We visited several families who had been severely beaten and mistreated by the occupying Serbian police,” Beqiri wrote.
Beqiri expressed his gratitude to the United States of America, and particularly to James Rubin, for their continuous support of Kosovo.
“Respect and eternal gratitude to the U.S.—to its senior officials, especially to James Rubin,” he wrote.
