U.S. Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, hinted that there will be “more news on this later today” when asked by CNN whether he expects Iran to come to the negotiating table.
He did not provide further details on the possibility of progress in negotiations. His comments, made ahead of a meeting with New Zealand’s Foreign Minister Winston Peters, came after President Donald Trump threatened Iran, saying that “an entire civilization will die tonight.”
Rubio also did not answer CNN’s direct question on whether a U.S. operation would constitute a war crime.
