U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio accused Iran of attempting to hold the world “hostage” through retaliatory airstrikes, insisting that the United States remains on the right path with its war objectives.
“I think everyone is now seeing the threat that this clerical regime poses to the region and to the world. They are trying to hold the world hostage,” Rubio said during an event at the U.S. Department of State.
Iran has continued launching air attacks against Israel and locations across the Persian Gulf that host U.S. military bases, as the conflict entered its tenth day.
