Rudy Giuliani has surrendered his 1980 Mercedes-Benz, luxury watches, and a diamond ring as part of ongoing efforts to collect a $150 million defamation judgment. The former New York City mayor is facing financial consequences for repeatedly making false claims about two Georgia election workers, Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss, after the 2020 election.
Giuliani’s lawyer informed a federal judge in New York that the watches and diamond ring were sent via FedEx, while the Mercedes was delivered in Florida as required. Additionally, Giuliani directed his bank to transfer at least $30,000 from his account, according to court filings cited by CNN.
Freeman and Moss have faced extensive harassment as a result of Giuliani’s public allegations while he worked as Donald Trump’s attorney. Giuliani, now disbarred, remains active in Trump’s circle and is expected to attend events linked to the 2024 presidential inauguration.
The legal saga continues as Freeman and Moss prepare to seize more of Giuliani’s assets, including a $6 million Manhattan apartment and a Palm Beach property valued at $3.5 million. They are also eyeing four Yankees championship rings, though Giuliani claims he gifted these to his son years ago. These disputes will likely be resolved in a January 2025 trial.
