While diplomatic efforts to end the war intensify, Russia continues to strike Ukrainian cities. Overnight Russian shelling killed one person and wounded two others in the eastern city of Kramatorsk. Russian forces also launched 79 drones on Ukraine, according to officials, as reported by The Guardian.

“Kramatorsk was subjected to enemy shelling – a residential neighborhood,” said city mayor Oleksandr Goncharenko. “A boy born in 2006 was killed,” he wrote on Telegram, adding that a man and a woman were also injured.

Ukrainian air defense units destroyed 63 of the 79 Russian drones that attacked several regions of Ukraine overnight, the country’s air forces said.

A Russian drone attack in the southwestern city of Zaporizhzhia left one civilian injured, said the regional governor.

Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that attacks on Ukraine would continue until a ceasefire agreement is reached that is acceptable to Moscow.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer is hosting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky later today for a critical summit of European leaders. Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, a long-time advocate for European countries to increase defense investments, will also be present at the summit.
