Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered 160,000 additional Russian citizens to be called up to serve in the military.
This is the largest mobilization in Russia in three years of war with Ukraine. The age of the soldiers to be mobilized will range from 18 to 30 years old, according to A2.
The new order, which starts on April 1 and will end by July 15, comes amid ongoing negotiations for a ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine, mediated by the United States.
In Russia, such mobilization campaigns are held twice a year, once in the spring and once in the fall. This spring, more soldiers will be called up than in previous years.
The spring mobilization in 2024 will include 150,000 people, while in the spring of 2023, 147,000 were called up. (A2 Television)
