While Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and European leaders were holding talks with U.S. President Donald Trump in Washington on Monday, Russian strikes against Ukraine persisted.

According to reports, the Russian military targeted Ukraine’s Poltava region, causing power outages for thousands of homes and damaging several administrative buildings, regional authorities confirmed.

Although no casualties have been reported, around 1,500 households and 119 businesses in the Lubny district were left without electricity, the BBC reported.

Meanwhile, in Russia, debris from downed Ukrainian drones triggered fires at an oil refinery and on the roof of a hospital in the Volgograd region, according to local authorities.

Russia’s civil aviation authority announced via Telegram that flights to and from Volgograd were suspended for nearly three hours overnight due to the incidents.
