Russia has rejected the proposed 30-day ceasefire in Ukraine, calling it merely a temporary pause for Ukrainian forces to regroup.

Speaking to Russian media on Thursday, Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov dismissed the proposal, stating that Moscow seeks a “long-term peace solution” that considers its interests and security concerns.

Ushakov also indicated that discussions between Russia and the United States are ongoing, albeit discreetly, adding that Washington acknowledges Ukraine’s NATO membership as a non-negotiable issue.

The ceasefire proposal has been a key topic in international diplomatic efforts, but Moscow’s firm stance suggests little room for immediate de-escalation.
