Russia has lost more than 8,000 tanks since the start of its full-scale aggression, according to the latest figures from Kyiv, which describe the high ongoing cost of the war for Moscow’s equipment and troops.

In its update on Saturday, the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense said Russia had lost eight tanks the previous day, bringing the total to 8,009 since February 24, 2022, according to foreign media reports.

The figure of 8,000 was announced on Friday by Kyiv, when it said that during the previous 24 hours, Russia had lost 14 tanks.

Exact loss figures are difficult to verify, with both sides inclined to keep the real number hidden.

However, other estimates continue to show high losses of Russian equipment, such as Oryx, a website.
