At least two people have been killed and eight others injured after a Russian airstrike targeted a central street in the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kharkiv, Ukraine, local authorities reported.

“One man died on the spot, while another succumbed to injuries in an ambulance,” said Oleg Synegubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, via Telegram.

The strike hit a major city road, causing several civilian vehicles to catch fire and shattering windows of apartment buildings and private homes. Synegubov emphasized that there were no military targets in the area. Emergency units and law enforcement are currently assessing the damage to civilian structures.

Russia has not yet commented on the reported attack, and independent verification remains challenging.
