The war in Ukraine continues to escalate with coordinated Russian attacks targeting cities and critical infrastructure.

According to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Russia carried out a massive overnight strike on the city of Odesa, deploying more than 60 drones.

“This attack had no military purpose; it was simply terror against civilian life,” Zelenskyy said in a post on Telegram.

As a result of the overnight strikes, one person was killed and 11 others were injured, including a child. Targets hit included a maternity hospital, residential buildings, businesses, and port infrastructure. “Our services are working to assist wherever needed,” the Ukrainian president added.

Meanwhile, in the north, in the city of Kryvyi Rih, two men were killed in Russian attacks.

At the same time, Kyiv responded by striking a major oil refinery in Yaroslavl, north of Moscow. The Slavneft-YANOS refinery, one of the five largest in Russia, has a production capacity of over 15 million tons of oil per year.
