Russia is prepared to consider any proposals from Washington to restore normal relations, stated Sergei Ryabkov, Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia.
Russia is open to considering any proposals from Washington aimed at normalizing relations between the two nations. This was confirmed by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov, as reported by TASS.
Ryabkov clarified that Moscow currently does not have information on when Keith Kellogg will assume his role as the special envoy for Ukraine, appointed by U.S. President-elect Donald Trump.
“We do not have a schedule nor any information on when Keith Kellogg will take up the position designated for him by President-elect Donald Trump. Furthermore, we have no indications, even nominally, of what his intentions may be regarding establishing contacts,” Ryabkov stated, in response to a question about whether Kellogg’s visit to Moscow was being prepared.
At the same time, Ryabkov emphasized that Russia is willing to consider any requests regarding the return to at least a relative normalcy in U.S.-Russia relations.
Earlier, Reuters, citing its sources, reported that Kellogg plans to visit Kyiv in January, along with several other European capitals. According to these sources, the envoy does not intend to visit Moscow but aims to focus on resolving the Ukrainian conflict. He is expected to consult with authorities in Kyiv, as well as visit Rome and Paris.
The planning of his trip is still underway, and the route may change, according to the agency’s sources. These sources anticipate that the meetings will focus on gathering facts on behalf of the incoming U.S. administration rather than conducting intensive negotiations.
