Russia’s Defense Ministry said its air defenses on Monday shot down 47 Ukrainian drones that flew over five of its regions, including the Black Sea and Sea of Azov coasts.

The RIA Novosti news agency and regional officials reported that the Tuapse oil refinery in the Krasnodar region was damaged.

The regional administration in Krasnodar said the Tuapse refinery, owned by Russian oil giant Rosneft, caught fire from drone shrapnel.

The Defense Ministry said most of the drones were downed over the Rostov, Belgorod, Voronezh, Smolensk and Krasnodar regions, while 17 were destroyed over the sea.

Ukraine did not comment on these claims.

This country has been under Russian occupation since February 2022.
