Russia and Ukraine will exchange 175 prisoners of war from each side on March 19, according to Russian President Vladimir Putin. The announcement was made during a phone call between Putin and former U.S. President Donald Trump.
“The Russian and Ukrainian sides will exchange 175 prisoners on March 19,” stated the Kremlin.
Meanwhile, the White House confirmed that Trump and Putin agreed to a 30-day ceasefire concerning Ukraine’s energy and infrastructure. Peace negotiations aimed at ending the conflict will begin “immediately” and will be held in the Middle East.
The White House praised the “significant benefits of improved relations” between the U.S. and Russia, marking a potential step toward de-escalation in the ongoing war.
