NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte reacted following overnight attacks in the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, which resulted in civilian casualties.
In a post on social media platform X, Rutte emphasized the importance of supporting Ukraine in defending itself.
“The horrific attacks last night in Kyiv, which killed so many innocent civilians, once again show that we cannot be naive regarding Russia,” he stated.
He further added, “We must ensure that Ukraine has what it needs to protect itself and to secure a sustainable peace.”
