During his visit to Kosovo, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte delivered a clear message, stating that KFOR should be notified in advance whenever the Kosovo Police is deployed near the border with Serbia.

Rutte emphasized that if the Kosovo Police are to be deployed near the border with Serbia, it is important that they inform KFOR ahead of time before this happens.

“When it comes to the KSF (Kosovo Security Force), unless there is a new agreement, we must stick to the current one, and the present situation clearly states that for the KSF to be deployed somewhere, especially in the north, there needs to be prior agreement with KFOR, with the KFOR commander.

And when it comes to the Kosovo Police, if they are deployed near the administrative border line, it is important that they at least inform KFOR in advance before this deployment of the Kosovo Police happens,” Rutte declared.
