Albania is in the European spotlight today. NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte is visiting the Albanian capital as part of the European Political Community Summit, the powerful military alliance headquartered in Brussels announced.
Rutte is expected to hold several bilateral meetings, including one with Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama.
Meanwhile, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has also arrived in Tirana and was welcomed earlier today by Prime Minister Rama. Other key leaders expected to attend the Summit include Emmanuel Macron, Olaf Scholz, and Rishi Sunak.
The meeting comes at a time when Ukraine and Russia are preparing for their first peace talks since the start of the war.
