NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte has stated that Kosovo is a very important country and must be in the best possible situation.
He also spoke about the February 9 elections in Kosovo, saying, “We will see how the new government will be formed.”
“Kosovo is a very important country where NATO has a strong presence through KFOR. It is important that we all engage to ensure that this country is in the best possible situation. There have been elections there, and we will see how the new government will be formed. This is all part of a normal democratic process, which is good. But throughout the region, the situation is changing,” Rutte emphasized.
Furthermore, he declared that the situation is changing across the region, and that he is in intensive communication with the leaders of Kosovo, as well as those of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Serbian leader Aleksandar Vučić.
“I am in intensive communication, not only with the leaders of Kosovo and Bosnia and Herzegovina, but last week I also spoke with Vučić, who is expected to be in Brussels next week. So, the communications are intense to reduce tensions in the region,” emphasized the NATO chief.
