NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte met in Brussels with Federal Councillor Martin Pfister from Switzerland’s Federal Department of Defence, Civil Protection and Sport (VBS/DDPS).
“It was good to meet Federal Councillor Martin Pfister and thank him for Switzerland’s contribution to NATO’s peacekeeping mission, KFOR, in Kosovo. We also discussed ways to deepen our cooperation with Switzerland,” Rutte wrote on X.
Switzerland has participated in NATO’s international peacekeeping mission, KFOR, in Kosovo since October 1999, with the Swiss Company and Swisscoy contingents.
The current Swiss military presence consists of 215 personnel, and the mandate is set to run until the end of 2026.
