NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte will visit Kosovo tomorrow, marking his first visit since taking office.
The news was earlier confirmed by NATO through a press release.
“On March 11, 2025, the North Atlantic Council, with NATO Secretary General Mr. Mark Rutte and NATO Deputy Secretary General Mrs. Radmila Shekerinska, will visit KFOR, the NATO-led mission in Kosovo, and the NATO Advisory and Liaison Team (NALT),” the statement reads.
The announcement also mentions that Secretary Rutte will meet with President Vjosa Osmani and current Prime Minister Albin Kurti.
In addition to ambassadors from partner countries contributing troops to KFOR, Rutte will also meet with the KFOR Commander, Major General Enrico Barduani, and the NALT Director, Brigadier General Christian Nawrat.
Rutte’s visit comes a few weeks after the completion of the electoral process in Kosovo.
He stated at the time that he expects the formation of a stable and functional government as soon as possible, and that NATO will work with whoever leads the country.
